.	To promote the standard of practice of counselling in Hong Kong.
.	To advance researches including the publication of researches in the field of counselling in Hong Kong.
.	To establish ethical standards and provide guidance for counselling education in Hong Kong.
.	To enhance the understanding and acceptance of counselling and to develop and maintain counselling services for the promotion of mental health in society.
Activities
.	To promote professional development and standard of practice through organising counselling seminars, workshops and international conference for professionals.
.	To promote mental health in people and to enhance their understanding and acceptance of counselling through talks, seminars and workshops.
.	To publish the "Asian Journal of Counselling".
.	To develop and produce audio-visual resources for counsellor training.
.	To provide consultation services to agencies and schools.
