Professor LAU Siu Ying Patrick 劉兆瑛教授

Professor Patrick LAU is currently Director of P.S.Y. Workshop. He is Fellow, Certified Counsellor and Approved Supervisor of Hong Kong Professional Counselling Association. He has devoted himself to training and supervising novice counsellors in both theory and practice at the school and other settings.

Professor LAU retired from Department of Educational Psychology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2018 and is now an Adjunct Associate Professor there. He was Associate Dean (Professional Programmes), and Programme Director of ‘Master of Arts in School Guidance and Counselling Programme’ and ‘Postgraduate Diploma in Education Programme’ of Faculty of Education, CUHK from 2012 to 2016. Before joining the Chinese University, he was a biology teacher at Lai Chack Middle School, the Principal of China Holiness College, and later an Assistant Professor at Hong Kong Baptist University, serving as the Course Planning Committee Chairperson and the Course Leader of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education Programme. He has been involved in teacher-education and professional counselling programmes for more than 30 years. His teaching areas include Counselling, School Guidance and related courses at various higher degree levels. His research work focuses on teacher wellness and burnout, comprehensive school guidance programmes, students’ life skills and talents development, positive youth development and career and life planning of adolescents.
