The minimum academic level for professional membership in HKPCA should be a HKPCA accredited master’s degree in counselling listed as below. Other master degrees in counselling or equivalent will be assessed on a case by case basis.

  • Master of Christian Marriage & Family Therapy
    Note: Applicable to graduates who complete the course “Practicum III” in Sep 2012 or after.
  • Master of Arts with a Specialization in Pastoral Counselling
  • Master of Theological Studies with a Specialization in Pastoral Counselling
    Note: Applicable to graduates who complete the course “Practicum I and II-A” in 2017 cohort or after.

China Graduate School of Theology

  • Master of Christian Marriage & Family Counselling* (2 years full time)
    Note: Conditionally recognized as an accredited programme for three cohorts of new intake 2022-2025.

  • Master of Arts in School Guidance and Counselling, Specialized Stream: Counselling and Comprehensive Guidance
    Note: Applicable to graduates who were admitted to the Programme in 2004 or after.

    Note: Applicable to graduates who were admitted to the Programme in 2006 or after.

  • Master of Social Sciences in Counselling
    Note: Applicable to graduates who were admitted to the Programme in 2004 or after.
